HUUM's heater families share a stone-forward design language but solve different room sizes and footprints. Match the exact room, voltage, controls and clearances first.
HUUM's family choice is mostly about room size, footprint and stone mass
HUUM's current electric lineup is easier to understand when the models are grouped by physical architecture. DROP is a compact wall-mounted heater with a large stone load for its footprint. CLIFF and STEEL are narrow floor-standing heaters designed for space efficiency. HIVE is a much larger high-stone-mass heater for bigger rooms. All still need to pass the same four checks: effective room volume, supply voltage, UKU control compatibility and safety clearances.

DROP is compact, but clearance changes with output
DROP's rounded wall-mounted design is one of HUUM's most recognizable forms. HUUM currently lists a 55 kg stone capacity for the family. That large stone mass does not mean every DROP model occupies the same usable wall envelope: the published safety distances change by output and supply variant.
Do not select DROP by appearance alone. Use the exact model's room range and dimension table and make sure the nearby bench, wall and guard-rail layout works with the required clearances.
CLIFF and STEEL use similar outputs but different geometry
HUUM currently publishes CLIFF and STEEL families with 240V room ranges such as 106–177 ft³ for the Mini 4, 177–318 ft³ for the 6 kW class, 283–460 ft³ for the 9 kW class and 354–566 ft³ for the 11 kW class. The 208V tables are different because delivered output changes.
That makes them useful examples of why SaunaSelector keeps voltage-specific data separate. If the site has 208V service, use the 208V table rather than carrying the 240V cubic-foot range over.
HIVE belongs in larger rooms
HUUM describes HIVE as a heater for larger saunas, with current HIVE 12, 15 and 18 models using a very large 250 kg stone capacity. Starting with 2025 production, HUUM states that the air tunnel is included as a standard component with HIVE models. This is a much larger installation than DROP or CLIFF and should be evaluated as such.
The large stone mass also means physical weight, safety railing and room circulation deserve explicit review rather than being treated as styling details.
UKU is part of the electric-heater architecture
HUUM's current UKU system includes a main module and safety/temperature sensing components, with Local and Wi-Fi control options. HUUM also publishes an extension box for cases where heater wattage exceeds the main module's direct switching capacity.

HUUM is a good fit when exposed stone design is part of the room
HUUM's electric families consistently make the stone mass visually prominent. That can work well in a room where the heater is intended to be a design element, but it puts more importance on guard rails, bench relationships and clearance geometry. The heater should still be chosen from the room calculation first; visual preference is a later filter.

HUUM is a particularly good example of why model records should include both output and supply type. A CLIFF 9, STEEL 9 or DROP model can have different delivered output and published room coverage depending on whether the installation is 240V or 208V. Keep the exact electrical variant with the room-range note, UKU requirements and safety-distance table.
That record also helps when comparing retailer listings. If one listing omits the voltage or controller requirement, treat it as incomplete rather than filling the gap from a similar HUUM model.
