Golden Designs spans infrared, traditional and hybrid systems
Golden Designs is not one infrared-sauna family. Its current North American catalog includes Golden Designs-branded infrared products, Dynamic and Maxxus infrared lines, indoor hybrid rooms, and new outdoor traditional and hybrid saunas. Those systems can require very different electrical service and installation planning.
Before comparing model names, decide whether the requirement is infrared-only, traditional-only or a genuine combination system.

Compact infrared models can be electrically simple—but not universally
Golden Designs currently lists compact examples such as the Serena and Gracia around the 1–2 person size with 120V/15A service. Larger Maxxus or Golden Designs infrared models can move to 120V/20A or other requirements. The exact product controls.

Hybrid models are not simply infrared cabins with a decorative stove
The current Soria indoor hybrid combines full-spectrum infrared emitters with a 6 kW Harvia traditional sauna stove and is listed for 240V/30A service. Golden Designs also states on that product page that the infrared and stove systems do not operate at the same time.
New 2026 outdoor hybrid models move the concept into larger structures. The Loviisa, for example, is currently listed with an 8.0 kW stove, 11 infrared emitters and 240V/40A electrical service. These are exact-model requirements, not a generic “hybrid sauna” specification.
Outdoor Golden Designs models create a different installation category
The current catalog includes flat-roof outdoor traditional models such as the Arlberg and Vorarlberg plus hybrid outdoor cabins such as Carinthia and Gargellen. Other models use barn-style geometry. Their site requirements, weight, weather exposure and electrical paths should be evaluated as outdoor projects even when the interior control/features resemble indoor Golden Designs cabins.

Capacity labels become especially weak at 6–8 people
Golden Designs sells large infrared cabins with six- and eight-person capacity labels and premium prices. At that size, bench arrangement and interior dimensions become more important than the number in the product title. Decide whether all users need seated capacity, whether reclining is required and whether the delivery packages can reach the final room.

Do not let EMF terminology replace the basic compatibility checks
Golden Designs and its related infrared lines use labels such as low EMF, ultra-low EMF, near-zero EMF and full-spectrum. Those can be documented product attributes, but they do not answer whether the cabin fits the room, has the correct indoor/outdoor rating or works with the available electrical service.
